Catering and Events Manager

Catering and Events Managers (Ref:101): Customize catering menus according to client needs. Plan private events for small and large groups, including food and drink menus, time of event, and costs. Monitor event execution to ensure all attendees are satisfied, and make last minute accommodations when necessary. Work with corporate clients to plan and execute corporate events, such as office lunches and corporate parties, ensuring menu, cost, time, and location of event meet the clients’ needs. Provide quality and accuracy to daily operations of the restaurant. Review and estimate food consumption, food and beverage costs and requisitions. Supervise kitchen performance, attendance, appearance and conduct of staff. Ensure proper procedures are in place to meet all environmental health requirements. Inspect food service facilities daily to ensure the equipment and building meets company, state and local health laws. Inspect prepared food to meet high quality standards and catering needs. Analyze information concerning operations such as daily food sales, patron attendance and labor costs. Prepare budget and maintain cost control of food production operations. Accounting, sales reporting and analysis. Prepare budgetary reports. Confer with kitchen management to plan menus. Communicate and cooperate with marketing, sales and catering. Tools used: Oracle Micros POS System, Delphi Reservation System, and Website Content Management System (CMS).

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management.

Minimum experience: Five (5) years. Position requires five (5) years post baccalaureate experience that is progressive in nature. Must have five (5) years of experience in Oracle Micros POS System, Delphi Reservation System, and Website Content Management System (CMS). Employer will accept no education and seven (7) years of experience in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management and five (5) years of post-baccalaureate progressive experience. Senior Server and Banquet Captain

Senior Server and Banquet Captain (Ref:201): Plan, serve and co-ordinate private events for small and large groups, including food and drink suggestions.  Work closely with catering and events manager in coordinating and monitoring event execution to ensure all attendees are satisfied.  Setup and co-ordinate with kitchen on all group dining, banquet dining and special events.  Ensure all food are fired course wise and served accordingly. 

Ensure proper procedures are in place to meet all environmental health requirements. Confer with kitchen management to plan and execute menu for catering, banquets and events. Tools used: Oracle Micros POS System. 

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Hospitality Management or similar equivalent.

Minimum experience: Two (2) years.  Job Site: Sunnyvale, CA. Employer requires valid Food Handler Certificate. Employer will perform drug testing/screening, background checks, and reference checks.
